Kerry‘s word “darkness” is perfect for me today. Normally Pup and I go walkies at lunchtime. However, I was somewhat occupied (Oh, I could use this for tomorrow’s SoCS”!) this time, being ironed out by a physiotherapist.
Once home, I felt duty-bound to catch up on my paid work, diligently bashing away at my keyboard until a golden snout pushed its way onto my lap.
“Oi! Mum! You’re late with my walkies!”
A glance out of my office window showed growing darkness.
“Ok Pup. Let’s go. I have just the thing for your collar.”
Once booted and bundled up against the cold wind, pup and I set of into the gloom, her new collar light showing the way. We had just as much fun in the dark as we do in the daylight. All I could see was pup’s light zig-zagging its way across the fields.
By the time we headed for home it was dark enough for the brighter stars and planets to pop out in the night sky.
Just think, without darkness, we would not be able to enjoy the stars and moon.
Here are a couple of my favourite quotes in relation to darkness.
“May it be a light to you in dark places, when all other lights go out” – Galadriel (The Fellowship of the Ring – J.R.R. Tolkien)
“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” – Professor Dumbledore (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban – J.K. Rowling)
Have a fantastic Friday xx
