Following on from yesterday’s post on so many things to do and so little time, I’ve been given a “time out” in the form of a stonking migraine in the early hours of this morning.
The recovery time has forced my to slow down, prioritise my to-do list and axe a whole bunch of stuff. It’s funny how the urgent stuff tries to make itself seem important. Quite sneaky!
I’m reminded of a Time Management course I went on years ago. We brought our to-do lists and split the tasks into 4 categories –
- Not urgent or important
- Urgent but not important
- Important but not urgent
- Important and urgent
It’s amazing how much of my to-do list is clogged up with non-urgent, unimportant stuff…. made to seem the opposite by the person who handed me the task!
Today I have only got capacity for category 4. As Bob Carter says “Poor planning on your part does not necessitate an emergency on mine.”
I’m off to rest up.
Prioritising and taking time out is so important, and migraines can really knock you about even for a while after they’ve gone. Hope you’re feeling more yourself soon – don’t sweat the stuff that’s not important as it can wait until you’re good and ready! 🙂

Thank you For your kind words Caz. I’ve decided not to run today either. I’ll be back to normal soon 🤪

Get better soon. Recovery can be days 😕I have suffered from migraines in the past with pain vomiting etc but had my first aura migraine last week. Very scary as I was driving. I am wondering if it is linked to the perimenopause? Shall have to look into that 😊

I know how scary aura migraines are and yes they are most definitely associated with peri and menopause 😬

I have been doing some reading over the weekend. It really was a scary event. It lasted about 30 mins over my left side. Thought I was going blind in one eye 😯
