I’m loving this SoCS challenge set by Linda – words containing ‘xp’. At first, my mind jumped back to the beginning of this century when I was sales rep. Our laptops had just been upgraded to a new operating system, Windows XP, with its funky new icons, grouped tasks and wild colour schemes. By today’s standards, it looks like a children’s interface, but I can remember being excited to wave goodbye to the old MS-DOS stuff.
After that, the next word to pop into my head was Expelliarmus! Those of you who’ve been reading my blog long enough, will be well aware of my love of all things Harry Potter, so this is to be expected. And while I’m on this topic, can you imagine being able to cast Expecto Patronum, thus ridding yourself of any happiness hoovers (dementors) in your vicinity. If I still worked in an office, I’d be a regular user of this particular spell. In my experience, there’s always one person in any office, who takes it upon themselves to remove any positive feeling from those around them.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend xx
While you’re here, why not pay a visit to Linda G Hill, hostess of this weekly writing challenge.
There’s a fun way to handle the XP prompt. Nicely done!

Thank you Laura. 😁 Being a Potter and Tolkien nerd has to be good for writing sometimes 🤪
