It’s been a busy time for me on the home and work fronts, so busy that I’ve not had the time to write, not even in my journal! However, there’s nothing quite like waiting for a flight to provide an opportunity to jot down some witterings.
The past few weeks have been such a rollercoaster ride of highs, lows, and unexpected turns. The highs came courtesy of Mum’s scan results. They show no new cancers popping up and more importantly, the current ones are shrinking! I know that there’s no cure for stage four breast cancer but it looks like the treatment is buying Mum extra time.
The ‘lows’ sneaked up on me at work. Completely out of the blue my manager and another team mate have been handed their termination notices. Those of us left behind are wondering if we will be next. No doubt the upper levels of management will expect the rest of us to take up the slack, even though we are already stretched to the max!
And now for the unexpected turn… with Mum’s health stable for now, the Dean family have booked a holiday. Watch out Disney World, we’ll see you in October. This is the joy of having grownups in the house, no need to stick to the school holiday dates. As I’m fond of letting my inner child out to play I can honestly say I can’t wait to go. I love rollercoasters, but you won’t catch me on the teacups, or any similar ride. They leave me green and dizzy for hours, whereas rollercoasters are so thrilling I have to rejoin the queue as soon as the ride finishes.
On the writing front, for those of you following Cath’s Adventures, I hope to have a new set of adventures ready now that Perimenopauseland is almost a distant memory.
Thank you all for you patience during the first half of this year, and welcome to my new followers.
Bless you all… Cath xx
