My paid work is a constant battle between quality output and quantity. The company I work for is so focussed on delivering as many on-line training courses as possible each year. The short time scales mean I end up delivering ‘quick and dirty’ courses, much to my annoyance. There’s so much more I could do to turn these dull, dry technical courses into something more interactive, fun and memorable.
It seems to me to be such a waste of creativity and authoring know-how to end up producing what amounts to PowerPoint on speed! Gah! The only thing I’ve been able to insist on is a clean and clear look to the screens!
You can’t have everything.
