JusJoJan 12th – Superstition or common sense

It’s bad luck to walk under a ladder. I’m not sure about this, but I am sure about the common sense behind the superstition.

Today Mr D and I have been busy with a spot of New Year DIY. Our bedroom and walk-in wardrobe need to be repainted. There’s much ladder work involved, particularly for painting ceilings and fitting new lighting.

With Mr D at the top of the ladder, paint and roller in hand, I refrained from walking underneath. Common sense tells me if anything drops from the top of the ladder gravity will ensure it lands on me. I stepped around. Pup was not so fortunate… I spent the afternoon washing paint droplets out of her fur!
