JusJoJan 18th – that’s one way to start a day

JoAnna is responsible for todays prompt, cycle. It’s the 18th day of Linda G Hill’s annual JusJoJan challenge.

Mr D and I start every week day with a ten mile cycle, all from the comfort ( I use this term loosely) of our garage. During one of the lockdowns, number 3 I think, we bought a stand for my bicycle and a couple of Bluetooth sensors. A handy (free) app records how fast we move and our total distances.

At the beginning of 2021, we charted each cycle to see how far we’d traveled . We managed to complete enough miles for Land’s End to John o’Groats and the Camino de Santiago, before we got bored of recording our virtual trips.

Fast-forward to today, and we are still going strong. 10 miles before the working day kicks off. To pass the time I hunt for something to watch on my tablet. Today I was so engrossed in the program, I didn’t realise I’d overshot my target distance! The only new items we both invested in for comfort, are cycling shorts, with butt padding in all the right place!

All this talk of cycling has jogged my memory. I need to sort through our bins as it’s recycling collection day tomorrow! TTFN
