One-liner Wednesday – Why the look of concentration?

‘I’m trying to stay upright on my surf board!’

‘What surf board? you’re just standing there with your tongue poking out of the corner of your mouth’

‘It’s a virtual surf board… a state of mind.’

‘But you can’t surf. You only ride boogie boards!’

‘Hey! This is my imagination… I get to do what I want. And what I want to do is surf!’

‘Whatever! Dare I ask why?’

‘As a matter of fact I am learning to surf the wave of change! It’s got to be better than being tumbled head over heels trying to float on the surface!’

‘That clears it up… not!’

‘There’s so much change going on around me, at work and at home. I’ve decided to go with the flow, but riding on top of it all instead of being swept along. Who knows, if I catch a great wave I can ride it all the way to the shore!’

This week’s not quite-one-liner came to me as I tried to explain the rough and tumble of employment to Cost Centre 1 (aka my daughter).

#One-liner Wednesday – celebrating change

Butterfly quoteLast week in the UK, the BBC Breakfast news program focussed on various aspects of menopause, discussing the physical and mental changes that around 50% of the population experience first-hand. The other 50% experience the backlash and spend most  of their time wondering what the heck happened.

I came across this quote while trying to identify a butterfly I’d seen while walking the pup. I think it sums up menopausal changes perfectly.

Have a wonderful Wednesday xx

This week’s midweek pondering is brought to you by Linda G Hill and my own slightly warped mind.

1. Make it one sentence. (Ooops!)

2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.

3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.

4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!

5. Have fun!
