Signing up for something, whether it’s gym membership (don’t laugh, I did have one once and used it regularly) or a magazine, usually involves devoting some time to using/appreciating the subscription, otherwise it’s money down the drain. Having completed a financial review and tidy-up session a few years ago, I’ve steered clear of subscriptions… until I took delivery of a parcel for my neighbour.
I was curious as to why the package felt like it contained liquids, so I checked the sender address. A gin club! OoOOoooOOOOooo! Before my neighbour arrived home to collect her box, I’d reviewed the company and subscribed to deliveries every two months. After the first package arrived, I changed my subscription to monthly. I couldn’t bear to miss out on such beautifully crafted small batch gins! Each box contains everything you need to enjoy the gin, recipes for cocktails and assorted nibbles to enhance the whole experience. I’d call the boxes my guilty pleasure, but the thing is, I don’t feel remotely guilty. I prefer to call them my little packages of happiness.
